We taste notes of dark chocolate, brown sugar, cordial cherry and a dash of raspberry tartness in this offering from Antigua, Guatemala.
Antigua is one of the classic growing regions, and this sweet, clean coffee lives up to the reputation of Guatemala's most recognizable place.
Antonio Medina worked on coffee farms at a young age but actually got his own start with corn and beans. However, on the farm that his father nicknamed "The Hill," Tony planted his first coffee tree in 1991 and has steadily been increasing his production every since.
Tony's coffee is grown in clay soil in the shade of inga trees more than a mile above sea level. We love its versatility at a medium roast level and have been drinking it both as a pour over and the main component in cold brew.
